STAMPEX BLOG
News, Views, Facts, Puzzles and More
As son of a stamp dealer, I’ve been in the philatelic world since my very young years. After high school, I studied German for five years and became a German teacher. But after some years, I needed to see other things. That’s how in the first days of 2017, being 26 years old, I created my own business and turned passion into business. Personally, I’m first interested in French stamps and topical train stamps, but came across the years to an area that is often forgotten: modern African stamps.
First selling only on Delcampe and Ebay (busch_collectibles on both Platforms), I created after two years my website www.buschcollectibles.com . While leaving my teacher life I also created a second company, Euro Souvenir Portugal, and became exclusive distributor for Portugal for the most-collected touristic souvenir, the 0€ Souvenir Note, printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire in the same conditions as the genuine Euro Banknotes. Due to the pandemic, Euro Souvenir Portugal has now to focus more on collectors as tourism in nearly dead these days. My days are very full, and weekends are seldom: I’m totally connected (too connected according my wife – and myself, sometimes!), passing from the iMac to the iPhone with some stops on the iPad. Always checking new sales, I have to find new products for my valued customers. I need to find scarce stamps and products, such as proofs, and this takes a lot of time, as well as placing new products online. I hate to have job late… But this often happens! I do always have to pass often from one company to another. When orders arrive, I have to pack, sometimes hundred letters and parcels a week with both businesses. Everything is done by myself, at least for now… but who knows?
